Wedding Mass and Reception
Ian and Helena
A Sacrament in its Humility and its Glory
Cathedral and Grand Halls make for great photography. However, the sacraments were initiated in the upper rooms and open fields of the working class, and continued to be celebrated in churched both humble and hallowed across the economic strata. This wedding was one such affair, hemmed in by budget, but abounding in piety. For me it was also a short fuse operation. I was enlisted by a concerned parishioner 72 hours before the ceremony after the first photographer dropped away. Despite a minimum of planning, and making the best use of the parish bush garden, its was a beautiful mass and reception, and the family gave me plenty of leftover in return for the short notice, which is always a plus.
