Post Vigil Wedding
The fullness of Matrimony
The Fullness of Matrimony, the Fullness of Faith
The Easter Vigil is a time of great celebration, remembering the ressurection of Christ, the dawn of the new covenant. It is a tour de force of sacramentality. We welcome new catacumens into the fullness of faith through baptism and confirmation, and celebrate the eucharist for the first time since holy thursday. A sacrament less associated with the Vigil is matrimony, and yet, God found a way to add a fourth sacrament to the adgenda for the 2025 vigil at St. Agnes in Arlington. I was in the vicity, photography the Vigil Mass, and got swept up in the festivities. Normally, the lead time on a wedding in months, and sometimes a short fuse operation can be weeks, but a prep cycle measured in minutes is quite the rarity. Yet, despite the impromptu nature of the affair, we were able to capture some nice photos of the event, and cap off the Vigil in a properly joyful fashion.
